Rates change. Confirm the figure with the bank, post office or lender before you book a deposit or borrow. Gold and silver prices are indicative and exclude GST and making charges. Petrol and diesel prices are indicative and can vary by fuel station.
Finfod keeps a short list of interest rates that people look up again and again: bank fixed deposits, government small-savings schemes, home loans, and the Reserve Bank of India’s policy rates. Each figure is copied from the bank, the Ministry of Finance, India Post’s scheme rules, or RBI. The check date on every page is 29 October 2026.
A rate changes on this site when the official page is checked again. That is slow on purpose. A wrong rate that updates itself is worse than a card with a date on it. Gold and silver have their own pages, with an indicative rate for the day named there.
Which page to open
Open FD interest rates when you are comparing bank deposits below ₹3 crore. The table has the general rate and the senior citizen rate. You can sort by one, two, three or five years. The one-year general rate for State Bank of India matches the rate the FD calculator starts from, 6.25%.
Open small savings scheme rates for PPF, Sukanya Samriddhi, NSC, Kisan Vikas Patra, the Senior Citizens’ Savings Scheme, the monthly income scheme, post office time deposits and the recurring deposit. The quarter is 1 October 2026 to 31 December 2026. PPF is 7.10% and Sukanya Samriddhi is 8.20%, the same figures as the calculators.
Open home loan interest rates for the starting rate and the range a lender prints, plus the benchmark it names. The lowest starting rate on that page is the one in the list above. It is a card rate. Your sanction letter can differ.
Open RBI policy rates for the repo rate, the standing deposit facility, the marginal standing facility, the bank rate, CRR and SLR. The repo rate is 5.50% from 7 October 2026. The next Monetary Policy Committee meeting is 2 to 4 December 2026.
Open gold rate today and silver rate today for an indicative price, excluding GST and with 3% GST. It is not a shop rate. The line on each page gives the date and the time in IST.
Petrol and diesel
Open petrol and diesel prices for the retail price of one litre in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai on 30 October 2026. In Delhi that is ₹102.12 for petrol and ₹95.20 for diesel. Indicative; may vary slightly by fuel station.
What is not here
A bank is missing when its own rate page could not be read on the check date. Union Bank’s pages did not load. A few small finance banks did not publish a card we could verify. ICICI Bank’s home-loan rate page did not resolve. Those names are left out. A guessed rate is not added to fill the table.
Deposits of ₹3 crore and above, staff rates, and most non-callable cards are left out as well. They are different products. The notes under a bank say so when that bank prints them on a page we did open.
How to read a check date
“Rates as of 29 October 2026” means the official page was opened that day. The card underneath may have an older start date. SBI’s retail FD card in the table started on 15 December 2025 and was still the card on the check date. Both dates are useful. The start date says when the bank last changed the number. The check date says when Finfod last looked.
If you are about to book a deposit or sign a loan, open the source link and match the row. Branches run short offers. A sanction letter can name a spread. The passbook is the last word on a small-savings deposit.
The pages are written by the Finfod Research Desk. The calculators for FD, PPF, Sukanya Samriddhi, RD and EMI use the shared figures where a single national rate exists. A bank FD still needs the rate from the card, typed in by you.
Questions
How often are these rates updated?
The pages are checked twice a week, and again whenever RBI or the Ministry of Finance publishes a change. This set was checked on 29 October 2026. The date is printed on each page.
Why is a bank missing?
The bank is missing when its own website did not show a rate we could verify that day. Union Bank did not load. Some small finance bank pages did not either. A missing bank is left blank. It is not given a rate from a news story or from another site.
Will I get the rate on the page?
The table is the published card for the segment it names, usually a retail deposit below ₹3 crore or a standard home loan. Your age, the amount, the tenure and the product can point at a different row. Confirm it with the bank, the post office or the lender before you book or borrow.
Where are gold, silver and fuel prices?
Gold and silver have their own pages. The figure is indicative, excluding GST and with 3% GST. It is not a shop rate. Petrol and diesel for Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai are on the petrol and diesel page. A pump can charge a slightly different price.
Who checks the figures?
The Finfod Research Desk checks each figure against the official page linked in the sources. The desk is the byline on every rate page. The source link is there so you can check the same page.
