Show the assumption
A result without the interest rate, the return, or the tax rule behind it is not useful. Each tool lists the inputs and a short note on the method. The rent versus buy notes are on the calculator page.
Count tax and costs
- Buying includes stamp duty and registration, maintenance, property tax, selling brokerage, and 12.5% long-term capital gains tax on the home once it has been held long enough.
- Investing the difference includes 12.5% long-term capital gains tax on mutual-fund gains above ₹1.25 lakh in a year.
- The tax calculator uses the new-regime slabs in Section 202 of the Income-tax Act, 2025, the rebate and marginal relief in Section 156, and the standard deduction of ₹75,000 for salary.
Do not let an ad change the answer
The result comes only from the numbers you enter. An ad or a clearly marked affiliate link never changes the maths.
Say when a tool is not ready
SIP, EMI, FIRE, and CAGR calculators are listed as coming soon. They are not linked until the page exists.
Sources for the tax tool
The same slab table applied in FY 2025-26. The Finance Bill 2026 memorandum says the rates are unchanged for tax year 2026-27. This calculator is for a resident individual under 60. It does not cover the higher basic exemption for senior citizens.
